Lady Jags suffer tough loss to Estill County

East Jessamine (1-6) lost a hard-fought game to the Lady Engineers (5-6) in overtime, 62-58.

Lady Jaguar scoring was largely a team effort, with Jermyra Christian’s 16 points on only 6-21 shooting leading the way. Iesha Dean recorded a double-double (twelve points, ten rebounds), and Jaila Yeast (4-8 shooting w/ four three-pointers) added twelve of her own. Hannah Mclain scored 10, Irma Hagins finished with five points, and Shelby Luong had three.

Christian and Mclain each had six rebounds, second to Dean’s team-leading ten. Linzey Napier had four boards, Reece Evans had three, and Luong, Hagins, and Yeast each had one.

Lady Cards pick up dominant road win

Wayne County continue their undefeated season (9-0) with a runaway victory over the Lady Jaguars, 61-23.

East Jessamine (1-7) never got their offensive game off the ground, with Christian’s eight points leading the team (2-13 shooting). Dean’s six was good for second, with Hagins scoring four. Yeast’s three and Evans’ two points rounded out the scoring.

It was a strange night for East on the boards, with Christian’s two good enough to lead the team’s performance. Yeast, Dean, Evans, Hagins, Mclain, Luong, and Kyla Hunt each had one.
