The Jessamine County Fiscal Court had a full agenda to consider at its latest meeting.

On Friday, May 20, the court met to discuss items on the agenda such as the new 2022-2023 budget, reviewing a salary survey, a second amendment agreement for Central

Kentucky Hauling, and approving numerous payments to different entities.

The court presented its 2022-2023 budget. There were mostly increases in the budget, such as more funds for asphalt, salt, bridge construction and sign replacement. Planning and zoning-code enforcement received $30,000. The The court budgeted $300,000 for a siren replacement project for local emergency management. The parks and recreation department received a budget increase for improvements in locations such as the baseball and softball fields, and the bathrooms at the soccer fields.

Other changes to the budget include increases in ambulance and medical care, and computer maintenance.

The second amendment agreement involves a fuel recovery fee for Central Kentucky Hauling, which is calculated using a specific formula. The second amendment agreement was approved, 5-1.

The court also voted on which company would provide disposal and pickup for the Jessamine County Convenience Center. There were several options, and the vote decided on Central Kentucky Hauling with a 5-1 vote.

The salary survey results showed that the fiscal court will be able to pay employees what the market demonstrates the employees should be making.

The court also approved an economic development authority payment, as well as payment to Don Franklin. Both votes were 6-0. The economic development payment is going toward industrial park lots and the Don Franklin payment is going towards vehicles for the sheriff’s office.
