Jessamine County’s elected officials swear in for new terms
Jessamine County held its last meetings for fiscal court, Nicholasville City Commission and Wilmore City Council last week. Elected officials took an oath of office and were sworn in to serve their community for 2019. ABOVE: Taking an oath in Wilmore were Jeff Baier, Jim Brumfield, Kim Deyer, Leonard Fitch, David Riel and Andy Bathje who will replace Lynn Cooper next year. TOP RIGHT: A special celebration was held in Cooper’s honor for his service prior to the meeting. Mayor Harold Rainwater will also return in Wilmore for another term next year.
Swearing in for Nicholasville City Commission seats were Betty Black, Patty Teater, Doug Blackford and Alex Carter who will replace Andy Williams in the upcoming year. Peter Sutherland was also sworn in for another term as Nicholasville Mayor.
Judge-Executive David West will return for another term at the Jessamine County Fiscal Court. West took the time last week to swear in members of the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office (below) before swearing in Magistrates Paul Foyd, Tim Vaughn, Gary Morgan, Justin Ray and Terry Meckstroth (above). Kent Slusher, not pictured, will be replacing April Rose Prather in the new year as a Jessamine County magistrate.
