William Vernon Merrell, 70

William Vernon Merrell, 70, of Kimberly Heights Drive, Nicholasville, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Woodford County on February 10, 1950 to the late William Thomas Merrell and Lucy Mae Bradshaw Dones. He was employed by Square D, enjoyed antiquing and was an excellent skeet shooter.

He is survived by his father, Charles Dones, one son, Kelly Hughes (Becky Klenk) Merrell, a half-brother, Jimmy Merrell, a sister, Mistie (Robert) English, a half-sister, Jama (Jimmy) Williams, a nephew, Robert English Jr., four grandchildren, Claudia (David) Carlton, Hunter (Mallory) Pack, Mason Carlton and Nicholas Poe.

Private services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
