Betty Jane Jensen
Dec. 7, 1927 – Feb. 17, 2019
Betty Jane Turkington Jensen was born on Dec. 7, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to William David Turkington and Emily Garvey Turkington.
She grew up in Wilmore, Kentucky where her father was on the faculty of Asbury College, then Asbury Seminary, and finally Dean of the Seminary.
Betty graduated from Asbury College in 1950 and moved to New York where she taught school.
She attended Drew Seminary in Madison, New Jersey and was married to Vern Jensen in 1955. Together, they served in ministry in the Northern New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church for 25 years, living in various towns including Metuchen and Morristown. They had three daughters, Julie, Becky and Lori.
Betty later lived in Basking Ridge, New Jersey and was employed by the Geraldine Dodge Foundation as their Grants Manager.
She was an active member of Liberty Corner Church and served as a board member of the Visiting Nurses Association.
In 2006, she moved to Blue Bell, Pennsylvania to be near family and resided at Normandy Farms Estates. There she was a beloved neighbor and friend and participated in various small groups, but she especially loved sharing her gift of music, playing the piano for worship services throughout the community.
She died at Normandy, surrounded by family, on Feb. 17, 2019.
Betty’s greatest joy on earth was her family. She was adored by her three girls, her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved sister, Wilmetta Abel.
She is survived by her dear brother, Charles G. Turkington; her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Woody Hope, her daughters Rebecca Schafer and Lori Jensen; her grandchildren Melissa Snyder, Joseph Hope, David Hope, William Hope, Bradley Seymour, William Seymour, Bryan Seymour and Timothy Schafer; her great-grandchildren Julia, Emily and Sarah Snyder, Caroline Dyer and Chloe Seymour, Willow Hope and Jensen Hope.
A memorial service was held Feb. 24, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Normandy Farms Estates, 9000 Twin Silo Drive, Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Burial will be in Wilmore, Kentucky.

Creed Johns
Jan. 25, 1924 – Feb. 21, 2019
Creed Johns, 95, widower of Susan Elizabeth Rhineheimer Johns, died on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019.
Creed was born on Jan. 25, 1924, in Madison County. He was the son of the late Robert Lee Johns and Inice Brumfield Johns.
He is survived by children Virginia Johns (Garry, deceased) Simpson, Robert Forbes (Sankey) Johns, and Georgia Johns (Reed) Bolus; grandchildren Brooke, Jayme, Jeremy, and Keene; great grandchildren Morgann (Dustin), Sam, Shelby, Walker, and Mollie; and great-great granddaughter Renley. Also surviving are nieces and nephews including great-great nephews, Creed Finnegan Sutton and Jackson Creed Rhineheimer.
All siblings preceded him in death: Elbert, Cornelia, Robert, Mary Agnes, Esther, Lucian, and Tom Welch. Creed was a long-time farmer and a retired rural mail carrier.
He was a member of Crosswoods Baptist Church. He was known far and wide as a faithful Christian, an upstanding citizen, a proud veteran, a loving father, a wise farmer, a loyal friend and a good neighbor.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Bruce officiating. Visitation was 3 to 8 p.m., Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary bearers will be Jerry Bruce, Brad Freeman, Jim Masters, Dr. Jim Hughbanks, Lowell Tarter, Howard Downing and Clyde Corman, Jr. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Memorial donations suggested to Crosswoods Baptist Church.

Beverly Moore
Nov. 29, 1944 – Feb. 23, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Beverly Moore announces his home going on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at the age of 74. Bev will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Hilda; and his step-son, David (Michelle) Minor.
He will be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Joey (Krista), Candice, Christina (David), William, Richard, Makayla, and Logan; five great grandchildren; by two sisters, Eva Mae and Mary Edith; one brother, Troy; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hood and Vera Moore and one step-daughter, Debbie Samples.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Friday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road by Pastor Tommy Morrow.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at the funeral home.

James M. Hopwood, 56, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019 in St. Louis, Missouri.
He is survived by his parents Roger and Nancy Hopwood, Nicholasville, Kentucky; sons Dr. Andrew Hopwood (fiance, Dr. Harini Karunasiri), Michael Hopwood, and Chris Hopwood; sister Rebecca Hopwood Labrillazo (Leo); niece, Mikayla Labrillazo; and nephew, Lucas Labrillazo, many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and also Melanie Settles Hopwood.
Jim is a graduate of Jessamine County High School and the University of Kentucky.
He was employed by the USDA.
Jim was a gifted musician and avid reader. He loved to play and listen to all types of music.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, March 2 at Betts and West Funeral Home in Nicholasville, Kentucky from noon to 3 p.m.
The family invites anyone who wants to speak, share a story, poem, funny time to share anything. Private interment at a later date.

Richard Hillard Krusinski

Richard Hillard Krusinski, age 89, passed away on Feb. 21, 2019 in Lexington, Kentucky.
Richard was born May 3,1929 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Jack and Helen Rezeno Krusiniski Butzen. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Raymond and sister in law.
Richard leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Lolita Kotarek Krusinski; son David (Eda Kacki) Krusinski; daughter Jane (Dale) Dvorak of Waco, TX, and daughter Gail (Hal) Harned of Lexington, KY; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at noon Today followed by mass at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Nicholasville, Kentucky at 1 p.m. with burial immediately following at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY at 2:30 PM.
