Womens basketball

Despite four Eagles ending the game with double-digits in scoring, Asbury women’s basketball (7-7) fell at home to #9 Georgetown College (14-1), 81-66. Georgetown used a 28-13 first quarter to power to the victory. The Eagles and Tigers remained an even 53-53 in scoring after the first period.
Junior guard Haleigh Releford from Lincoln County led Asbury with 15 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Senior guard from Lincoln County, Trinity Shearer scored 14 points with eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Junior from Harrodsburg, Camryn Preston scored 14 points while senior from Owensboro, Spencer Harvey made three three-pointers for 12 points with six rebounds.
Mens basketball

Senior Caleb Wallis and junior from Jessamine County, Ben McNew scored 18 points apiece on Friday night in round one of the Bluffton Tournament in Bluffton, Oh., but Asbury mens basketball (9-6) fell to Albion College (6-4), 75-80.
AU scored 45 points in the second half to out-score Albion by a point and got within one (75-76) with under a minute to go but could not complete the comeback over the Britons.

Senior forward from Wilmore, Clayton Winter went 9-10 from the field with 19 points and 15 rebounds for his fifth double-double to lead Asbury mens basketball over Miami-Hamilton (1-5) on Saturday night in Bluffton, Oh., 88-56. AU scored their second-most points in a game this season with 88 and scored 50 second-half points.
