Camp Nelson National Cemetery and the Central Kentucky Veterans Committee (CKVC) will host a Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. This event is free and open to the public.
Join the celebration to honor all veterans living or dead. It is our privilege to commemorate the service men and women of the U.S. military – veterans, active-duty service members, guardsmen, and reservists. All veterans will be honored.
From the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror, men, and women from all walks of life have shared the common bond of their oath to defend the Constitution and this nation — no matter the danger or the cost. For this, we owe them a debt of gratitude. Not just on Veterans Day, but every day – as many veterans still serve America.
Andy Barr, Kentucky’s 6th District Representative to the U.S. Congress as the guest speaker.
In addition to our guest speaker, several talented local musicians and a combined Jessamine County high school band providing music throughout the ceremony. Further, there will be the traditional “Presentation and Posting of the Colors and Retirement of Colors,” laying of a memorial wreath and a rifle volley to honor all veterans who faithfully defended our nation.
The one-hour ceremony begins at 11 a.m., however, every is encouraged to arrive by 10 a.m., for parking on the cemetery grounds. Volunteers and golf carts will be at the cemetery to transport families and friends needing assistance to the ceremonial area. Please be sure to dress accordingly for the weather.
