The Jessamine County Animal Care Control and the Jessamine County Public Library are partnering together once again for the 13th annual Boo-Wow Walk.

Although the event is the county’s Halloween celebration for dogs with a trick-or-treat for dogs with canine treat stations and a doggy Halloween costume contest, there will be fun for their human companions, including a pumpkin patch, a hay maze, face painting, bounce houses, hotdogs and drinks, local vendors, and a cornhole tournament that costs $20 for a 4-person team to enter.

Sign-up will be near the animal care and control shelter, adjacent to the Jessamine County Fairgrounds, located at 120 Fairground Way. Plus- attendees can enjoy time with others and their canine friends. Shelter dogs looking for homes will also be present for anyone looking for a new friend.

All are welcome to the event at no cost. Attendees are encouraged to bring their pet dogs in their best costumes. It will be hosted Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City-County Park fairgrounds.

The participants’ human friends will judge the costume contest. Be sure to register for the costume contest at the event from 12-12:30 p.m. The contest begins promptly at 12:30.

“We are proud to have been part of the Boo-Wow Walk since the start. This event offers our community a unique way to connect with new friends, both canine and human,” said Emily Moon, marketing and public relations coordinator at the Jessamine County Public Library.
