Great Lakes Ace Hardware will soon replace Bellerive True Value Hardware in Nicholasville, according to the Michigan-based hardware company.

The former owner of the location, Bruce Tassin, will continue managing the store along with most of the same employees. The 170 Bellerive Boulevard store is now undergoing a complete renovation and is scheduled to open with its new name on Oct. 12. A grand opening is already planned for a mid-November date. However, during this renovation, the store will remain open for sales and service of Stihl products.

The new store will offer services like key cutting and automotive key fob replacement, screen repair and propane tank exchange. In addition, it will sell lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing and electrical supplies.

The renovation will add a few specialty departments as well, including a backyard BBQ department with a wide range of grills and outdoor accessories and tools, including battery-powered leaf blowers, chain saws, and mowers, and a pain department with a wide range of paints and painting supplies.

“We are thrilled to join the Nicholasville community and continue the outstanding tradition of customer service started by Bruce Tassin and Bellerive True Value. We are eager to show our new neighbors how Great Lakes Ace lives the Ace Helpful Promise every day by delivering reliable service, helpful advice, and products to help them get their projects done right,” said Joe Jeffries, president of the Great Lakes Ace Hardware parent company.

Great Lakes Ace currently owns and operates more than 60 stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
