The kickball league is returning for its second year, and volleyball will be in its first.

Wilmore Parks and Recreation sponsor the leagues, and their director Lee Ann Williams believes they will provide a safe space for local youth.

“I love being able to host teen programs allowing them to connect with one another and enjoy themselves in a positive environment,” Williams said.

She is looking forward to the future of the programs and enjoys working with the city of Wilmore. “I’m excited to work with Amy Fitch, who is Director of Wilmore Parks and Recreation, and continue to provide our community youth with quality programming.”

The Teen Kickball League will run from June 5-July 10 and meet on Monday evenings at the Sim’s Softball Field, located at 111 Pleasntview Street. Registration is open to anyone between the ages of 13 and 18. Besides practices, the team will meet to compete against other leagues across the state. To register for kickball, fill out a Google Form, https://forms.gle/meds7FUR26vgUtFM8.

The volleyball season will last from June 1-29, and meet on Thursday evenings. To register for this season, complete the Google Form, https://forms.gle/y5ow5ZGQ7kxuKwPR7.

Both leagues require a $40 registration fee. Wilmore Parks and Recreation will invoice the fee upon registration. Registration will close on May 31.

If you are not a teen but still want to participate, the city of Wilmore will also host an adult co-ed volleyball and kickball tournament. Rather than signing up individually, adults will
register as a team. To register, participants can email wilmoreparks@gmail.
