On the night of Friday, March 3, a Nicholasville juvenile was injured in a shooting, according to the Nicholasville Police Department.

NPD was called to the Valero gas station at 1000 South Main Street. The juvenile, along with his brother, got in an altercation with an adult male who was later identified as Marshal Siler.

Siler fired two shots and fled the scene. One of the bullets struck the juvenile in the pelvic region.

The injured juvenile was transported to UK Hospital for treatment.

“Everybody in that altercation was familiar with each other, and so we knew the suspect pretty quickly,” said NPD Public Information Officer Sam Wade.

Saturday afternoon, Siler turned himself in.

“It was a matter of just getting all of our ducks in a row and paperwork, and we made contact with him, and he turned himself in,” Wade said.

Siler is charged with assault in the first degree and wanton endangerment in the first degree.
