The owner of a Nicholasville bakery has been arrested in connection with a July fire, according to a social media release from the Nicholasville Police Department.
Lana C. Rowland, 54, of Wilmore, was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree arson on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
Rowland owned CNC Bakery. It caught fire on July 17, and the damage left the building at 615 North Main Street condemned. Local fire officials said at the time the fire looked to be caused by electrical issues in the building that was constructed early in the 1900s.

A previous fire at the bakery in March was contained to an electrical box. Another occurred underneath the bakery in December 2021 and damaged the first and second floors.
According to the release, a collaborative investigation involving multiple agencies, including the Nicholasville Police, the Nicholasville Fire Marshal’s Office, and others, led to the discovery of Rowland’s involvement in the July blaze.
Rowland is currently lodged in the Jessamine County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 3 at 2 p.m.
The investigation is currently ongoing, according to the release.
