Margie Alene Stipe McQueary, 89, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at Landmark of Lancaster. Born December 8, 1932 in Jessamine County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond & Mary Preston Stipe. Margie loved being with her family & cooking. She enjoyed her flowers, hummingbirds, crossword puzzle books and reading her Bible. She was a member of Lambert’s Chapel Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert L. “Bob” McQueary; son, Robert W. McQueary; brothers, Jerry, Rick, & Neal Stipe; sisters, Edna Blanton & Elsie Cobb.
Survivors include children, Elizabeth “Libby” (Ray) Land, of Richmond, Roberta “Petey” (Dwayne) Shelton, of Danville, Kathleen “Kathy” Hanks, of Florida, Lahoma (Joseph) Barkley, of Frankfort, Michelle McQueary, of Nicholasville, Charles (Shonda) McQueary, of Lancaster, Kenneth McQueary, of Nicholasville; daughter-in-law, Gail McQueary, of Lancaster; brother; Raymond Letcher Stipe, of Nicholasville; grandchildren, Scott & John House, Stacey Fischer, Michael McQueary, Brandon Broughton, Kelsie Sandlin, Isaac Stevens, Joe Barkley, Jr., Benjamin Shelton; great-grandchildren, Cassidy House, Rylee Baldwin, & Holden Sandlin.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Browning officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Scott House, John House, Michael McQueary, Gary Hunter, Dewayne Stipe, Brandon Broughton, J.R. Briner, Robert Briner, & Troy Briner. Honorary pallbearers include Dwayne Shelton, Ray Land, Isaac Stevens, & Chris Sandlin. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 PM Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the funeral home.
