Rebecca “Becky” Garrett, 73, widow of David Garrett since 2011, join him and their son Jody in eternal rest on Saturday Oct 30, 2021. Becky was the daughter of the late Joseph W “Dub” and Hester Warner Hunter, born on Nov. 28, 1947. She was a life long resident of Jessamine County. She was a member of Little Hickman Christian Church where she served as a financial secretary and many other volunteer positions. She loved horses showing and trail riding was a family activity that was enjoyed by David and Jody as well as camping. She was a lifetime member of the Jessamine County Saddle Club and was also well known for her pecan pies that she was happy to share with people. Eight years ago she started a new chapter in her life being a “Granny” to Cole Wiley and 5 years later received her second blessing Conner Jackson. These two were the light of her life and she enjoyed every minute she spent with them. When Cole began playing sports her favorite pastime was to attend his games and practices no matter the weather. She will be fondly remembered by her niece Jenny Jackson Wiley, husband David, nephew Bryan Jackson, wife Gina, grandchildren Cole Wiley, and Conner Jackson, and cousin Debbie Lovitt as well as many other extended relative and friends including her Church family. She was preceded in death by her son Jody Garrett in 1989, a sister Lucy Jackson and husband Jesse Jackson and Sara Hart Lovitt. A Remembrance Service will be held Nov. 4, at 11:00 AM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Baltzer officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Cole and David Wiley, Mitch and Darrin Garrett, Ryan Montgomery, Bryan Jackson, and Caleb Yarnell. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Bowman, Dwight Willis, Rodney Moss, Billy Teater, Ron Cundiff, Sandie Hammond, members of Jessamine County Saddle Club and the Little Hickman Church. Becky’s family greeted friends beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, Nov 3, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. “Good friends are are hard to find and impossible to forget.” Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust and loyalty given to us by Becky’s family to care for her arrangements. If you are unable to attend Becky’s funeral, call us at 859-885-4125 and request a white silk rose to be placed at her service with your name attached. These will be given to the family so they will know that you were remembering them.
