Nicholas Joseph Placido, Sr., 99, husband of the late Josephine Busone Placido died on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021 in Lexington, KY. He was born in Latham, NY on Sept. 1, 1922 to the late Antonio and Raphaela Placido. Nicholas was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during WW II and worked as Engineer for R&E Labs and for the federal government arsenal. He is survived by one son, Nick (Anita) Placido, Jr., Wilmore KY; one daughter, JoAnne (Robert) Murphy, Colonie, NY; three grandaughters, Sarah (Jack) Jones, Lexington, KY, Miriam (Jose) Paulino, Indianapolis, IN and Nicole Russell, Troy, NY; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Fran) Placido, Latham, NY. He is preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. A visitation will be Sat. Oct. 2, 2021 10am-11am at Clark Legacy Center – Brannon Rd followed by a service at 11am. clarklegacycenter.com
