Local martial arts students compete in regional event
Seven students represented Lion’s Pride Martial Arts at the Elite Martial Arts Lexington Regional Championship on Aug. 28. All the students performed well, which is notable because some participated in challenging divisions consisting of 10 or more competitors. From left to right, back row: Brian Nutter (Master Instructor and Owner of Lion’s Pride Martial Arts), Bella Samson, Olivia Taylor (4th weapons), Kristiana Finfrock (1st sparring, 2nd forms), Eileen Cotterman. Left to right, front row: Max Easley and Landon Fortner (2nd weapons, 3rd forms). Michael Kotchev took second in sparring. The Lion’s Roar Competition team is thankful for the support of its sponsors, Drs. Spurlin, Brunner, Tiu, Castellanos, and APRN Bloomfield of the Baptist Health Gastroenterology Medical Group.
