This Father’s Day, tell dad to put on his best Hawaiian shirt, pack a picnic dinner, and head over to Riney B. Park & Aquatic Center for an evening of summer fun. “Not A Beach Party” is a live concert featuring the high-energy, beach-themed band, Conch Republic. This upbeat outdoor event will take place this Sunday, June 20th from 6-8pm and will kick-off Nicholasville’s annual Make Music Day celebration.
Not A Beach Party is fun for the whole family. The band Conch Republic is full of crazy characters who will perform some of your favorite hits from artists like the Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Zac Brown and Harry Belefonte. They’ll engage the crowd in sing-alongs, conga lines, limbo and dance contests, while offering party favors for those who like to join in the fun. There will be food trucks on site for those who would like to purchase some treats and free maracas will be available while supplies last.
This event is presented by the Jessamine County Public Library, Nicholasville Jessamine County Parks & Recreation, and Visit Jessamine. It will serve as the start of the festivities for Make Music Day Nicholasville which will take place the following day. On Monday, the Jessamine County Public Library will be hosting fun events online and in-person for Make Music Day including a harmonica giveaway while supplies last, a drum circle, music-making activities, sing-alongs, and a fun virtual karaoke event for teens. Check out jesspublib.org for more information on everything going on at the library.
We hope to see you on Sunday, June 20th at Riney B. Aquatic Center and on Monday, June 21st at JCPL!
