Shirley Deloris Florian Preston, 82, widow of T.A. Preston, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on July 4, 1938, in Keene, Kentucky, to the late Sherman Florian and Thelma Dickerson Florian. Shirley was retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a nursing assistant.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers Lester, Joseph, and William Florian, and four sisters Nellie Kidwell, Mary Alice Reeves, Virginia Hopper, and Ruth Jenkins. Shirley is survived by several nieces and nephews and other family members Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Wesley Shephard officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as bearers.
