Life can be filled with an unexpected amount of chaos.

Relationships, education, work and everything in between can leave us feeling breathless and dizzy and at the same time give us all the warm and fuzzies.

Each of us have our own fair share of blissful chaos, and my life is no different.

For me, life is filled to the brim with the stress of a full-time career and the wonderful joys of raising two energetic, full-of-life boys.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Gabe and Sam’s mom and Todd’s wife. I am a sister and a daughter, a program director and an educator.

My name is Tiffany, and much like you, my life pulls me in a million different directions and provides me with many different hats.

When my husband and I planned our future, it was your typical plan: kids, careers and a home. Easy enough.

However, as things started to fall into place, God had a different plan.

We had intended to enroll our kids in public school and balance the careers, field trips and class parties, naturally while still maintaining some degree of sanity.

The funny thing is when I took our eldest to his preschool registration, he fell just outside of the age cut off.

That year we set about preparing him for school. That year we prayed and thought long and hard about what our goals were, what our desires were for our children and how to go about accomplishing them.

I had a one-on-one with a friend who homeschooled her children. That year, we decided to at least give it a whirl for preschool. A practice run if you will.

As you read this, you are probably picturing my children sitting in front of tablets at a babysitter’s house while mom and dad go out and conquer the world.

Let me explain. I don’t wear a cape, and unfortunately, I cannot be in two places at once.

An interesting twist to our story is that my husband is a stay-at-home dad. While this has not always been a common practice, you are seeing it more and more.

My husband and I have a very interesting set up. I make the plans, line out the year and set goals for what we will learn. In many ways, I am the principal.

My husband follows through. He picks the work books that seem to work the best and spends endless hours working alongside our kids to help them gain a well-rounded education all the while running our household.

I have a career, one that I, like many of you, have worked hard to obtain and quite enjoy doing, most of the time.

The down side to being a career mom is the constant realization of how much you do indeed miss your children.

The upside is that they miss you too, so most moments together are filled with hugs, play time and lots of giggles.

Despite the overwhelming amount of joy found in raising our children, there are days where, in truth, the struggle is very real. It is those moments that one day we will look back and laugh about.

One thing I have realized in our homeschool, career, family and everything in between journey is that we have to take one day at a time.

Our journey has taken us down many different paths, and as we are on this journey we are slowly attempting to learn how to balance the responsibilities and obligations that come with running a home while attempting to educate your children and still be successful in the work force.

There are many kinks along the way, many days filled with spilled milk and tears.

However, the good does most definitely outweigh the bad.

I hope to share with you many of our struggles, our laughs and our hurdles jumped as we embrace this chaotic, always changing, always rewarding life.
