Applications for the 2020 County Agricultural Investment Program (CAIP) are due to the Jessamine County Extension Office on Wednesday, July 8, the Jessamine County Conservation District announced Monday.

CAIP is administered by the FFA Alumni Association through the County Extension Office. It is a cost share program to assist farmers in diversifying their operations as a result of the tobacco buyout years ago.

For more information on CAIP in Jessamine County and the application process and what it entails, call Gary Burdine at 859-381-7912 or Carl Waits at 859-948-5527.

To pick up an application, call the Extension Office at 885-4811.

To complete an ag water quality plan, call Brenda Lynch, district administrative secretary for the Conservation District, at 885-4673 to make an appointment.

For the AWQP, you will need your farm serial number (FSN) from USDA-FSA 859/873-3411.

The Conservation District also reported that the Fayette County FSA Office has been moved to the Versailles office on 180 Beasley Drive, Versailles, because of the driver’s license office, which is downstairs of their building.

The driver’s license office is receiving hundreds of visitors a day, so it is generating huge risks to the program technicians and farmers.

If you have questions or are needing FSA information, you can call 859 873-3411.
