Saint Joseph Jessamine has announced that the 2019 Employee of the Year award recipient is Michele Rothermund, RN, supervisor, Nursing – Emergency Room, Saint Joseph Jessamine.
Saint Joseph Jessamine annually recognizes one outstanding Employee of the Year who demonstrates the core values of reverence, integrity, compassion and excellence. Rothermund was this year’s recipient and was nominated by Greg Giles, market director, clinical services, Saint Joseph Jessamine.
“The Emergency Department is an environment that can easily cause staff members compassion fatigue,” said Giles. “Despite the emotional exhaustion of providing patients with emergency care in oftentimes time-sensitive situations, she stays strong to the values of CHI Saint Joseph Health and greets everyone with a smile and genuine hospitality. Michele is an incredible example of a servant leader who inspires others to lead and serve.”
Rothermund is a certified emergency nurse who demonstrates excellence through her various certifications and participation in initiatives that advance her knowledge and enrich nursing practices. Over the past 16 years, she has been nominated multiple times and selected more than once as Saint Joseph Jessamine’s Employee of the Month, and has been selected as a Daisy Award winner at the hospital.
Rothermund was recognized during a special event at the hospital.
