Assault charge filed for spanking, bruising

A Nicholasville woman was charged with misdemeanor assault after reportedly spanking a person with mental disabilities and leaving bruises.

According to Nicholasville Police, officers were called to a residence at 132 Shelby Way on Jan. 27. The suspect, 41-year-old Laura B. The victim had “significant bruising” to the left bottom and hip.

The victim was not able to communicate, officers said.
