Driver charged with DUI, speeding
A Nicholasville man was arrested after driving 103 mph in a 55 zone in the rain.
According to Nicholasville Police, officers spotted a vehicle on U.S. 27 driving well above the speed limit at 2:08 a.m. Jan. 14. Once the vehicle stopped, officers said they could smell marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. Police said the driver, identified as 33-year-old Ryan Edward Rousey of 301 Kevin Drive, had trouble putting the vehicle in park and in retrieving his operator’s license. He also failed a number of field sobriety tests.
Rousey was arrested and charged with speeding, reckless driving, driving too fast for conditions and driving under the influence.
