Nicholasville man arrested for methamphetamine
Brian S. Reynolds, 29, of 663 Burton Lane in Nicholasville, was arrested June 8 for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
A traffic stop occurred where Reynolds was the passenger in a vehicle. An open container of whiskey was seen on the passenger seat, according to the citation. A search of the vehicle was conducted. Inside a sunglasses case, a white crystal-like substance was located in a plastic bag.
Reynolds allegedly told officers the bag was his. Also located under the front passenger seat were four loaded syringes. A field test of the liquid was conducted, and it tested positive for methamphetamine.
Reynolds was arrested and taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center.

Louisiana man arrested for DUI
Lee B. Higgins, 41, of 3613 Government St. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was arrested June 9 for speeding 26 mph over the limit, reckless driving, DUI and no operator’s license, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
A vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed south bound on US 27. The vehicle was then seen passing two vehicles without using a turn signal.
Higgins was described as having glassy eyes, and allegedly told officers he had drank brandy prior to being stopped. An empty bottle of Paul Masson was in plain view. A field sobriety test was performed, which Higgins failed.
Higgins was arrested and taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center.

Lexington man arrested for DUI
Brandon Zackhery Allen Ross, 19, of 3745 Camelot Drive Apt. 114 in Lexington, was arrested June 10 for operating on a suspended or revoked license and DUI, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Ross was seen traveling on US 27 with a suspended license. After being stopped, a strong odor of marijuana was detected, according to the citation. Officers asked Ross when was the last time he smoked. He allegedly told them he had “hot boxed” 20 to 25 minutes prior to being stopped, and there were “roaches” of marijuana in the door panel ashtray.
A field sobriety test was performed, which Ross failed.
Ross was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

— Gina A. Giles, 39, of 510 Cogar Ave. in Harrodsburg, was arrested June 7 for theft by unlawful taking.
— Josh Griffen, 31, of 1315 Louisville Road Apt. 28 in Frankfort, was arrested June 7 for failure to appear and contempt of court.
— Jefferey Wayne McQuinn, 51, of 207 Russell St. in Harrodsburg, was arrested June 8 for no registration plates, failure to maintain required insurance and operating on a suspended or revoked license.
