Spring market and pancake breakfast held at High Bridge Community Center Saturday
Spring Market and Pancake Breakfast will be held at the High Bridge Fire House Community Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Vendors are still needed for flea market, yard sale, crafts and direct sales, etc. Tables are $10 each. Contact 859-948-4586. A plant swap will also take place. Bring a plant, take a plant. Proceeds from this annual event are used for ongoing maintenance of the Center.

Barr hosts
meetings in county
U.S. Rep. Andy Barr’s field staff will have office hours from 3 to 4 p.m. on the third Friday of every month at the Jessamine County Courthouse, located at 101 N. Main St. Meetings are held on a first come first serve basis. For more information call 859-219-1366.

Nonprofits join together for KY Gives Day
Nonprofits are joining together under the Kentucky Nonprofit Network for one great day of giving from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. May 14. Five Jessamine County organizations are receiving donations on this day including Community Service Center of Wilmore-High Bridge, The Family Center of Wilmore, Inc, Hope’s Embrace, Jessamine County Homeless Coalition and Primate Rescue Center.  Each has a profile page with descriptions and areas of service with various levels of donations available.  KNN will provide some cash prizes based on total funds raised but also individual donors.  Every gift will matter in this competition regardless of size.   To donate, go to www.kygives.org

Jessamine DUI offers education program
The Jessamine DUI and Substance Abuse Program offers a 20-hour education program weekly from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. An out-patient program is offered Mondays at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Assessments are by appointment only. Attendees must have a court AOC form, citation and conviction date prior to appointment. Well Nutrition hosts Body Recall
Carolyn Walter will teach her exercise class “Body Recall,” from 2 to 3 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday at The Well Nutrition, located at 123 Orchard Drive. Exercises are done in a chair and with a chair and are helpful to regain strength, mobility, flexibility. coordination and posture awareness for patients who have suffered from strokes, joint replacement, heart, arthritis and Parkinson’s disease. Exercises also help with self-image and attitude about one’s self and wellbeing, as well as falls and recovery and ways to get up and down from the floor. All are welcome. Farmer’s Market in Wilmore
The farmer’s market will meet every Saturday at the city hall parking lot from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Jessamine Piece Quilters hold weekly meetings
The Jessamine Piece Quilters meets every Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at The Nicholasville Christian Church, located at 104 S. Second St. Enter through the back door. Meetings consist of talking about quilts, planning activities and outings and bringing a latest project for show and tell. For more information visit jesspq.org

Free GED testing offered in Jessamine County
For residents who want to earn a GED and increase their earning power with a new job or want to prepare themselves for college there are no testing fees at Jessamine County Adult Ed SkillsU now through June. Residents can start today by calling Kimberly or Joann at (859) 887-9052 or stopping by the new location at 851 Wilmore Road in Nicholasville.

Military veterans wanted
