Two West Jessamine High School graduates participated in the doctoral hooding ceremony at the University of Louisville on Dec. 14, 2018. Robin Fain Hopkins, WJHS 2008 alumni, received her Ph.D. in experimental psychology from the School of Arts and Sciences. The focus of her study and research was learning and memory. She is currently a professor in the psychology department at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. Naomi Charalambakis, WJHS 2009 alumni, received a Ph.D. in anatomical sciences and neurobiology from the School of Medicine. The focus of her study and research was the inhibitory circuitry underlying vision. She is currently a science policy analyst employed by the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology in Washington, DC.
