Nicholasville woman arrested for DUI, marijuana

Sarah Nicole Katzman, 27, of 204 Southside Way in Nicholasville, was arrested Dec. 31 for DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a citation released by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.

Katzman was seen making a right turn southbound on US27 from 169 when she failed to complete the right turn and crossed over the median striking a road sign. Once deputies made contact with Katzman, a small baggie was seen on the floor board of the passenger side of the vehicle. Katzman was described as having glassy eyes and slurred speech.

A field sobriety test was performed, which Katzman failed. A search of the vehicle resulted in the confiscation of a purse which contents included a white powdery substance, a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a syringe and a glass pipe.

According to the citation, while speaking with Katzman, she allegedly fell asleep many times during the investigation.

Katzman was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested for marijuana

Kyle David Bishop, 19, of 203 Faulconer Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 3 for trafficking in marijuana and resisting arrest, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers initiated a traffic stop on Bishop for a Jessamine County warrant. Upon making contact with Bishop, a strong odor of marijuana could allegedly be detected, according to the citation.

After placing Bishop under arrest for the bench warrant, officers conducted a search of the vehicle. One large bag of vacuum- sealed marijuana, a smaller bag of marijuana, two separate large amounts of cash and an electric currency counter were allegedly confiscated from the vehicle.

Bishop was taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville woman arrested for DUI

Margeret L. Pittman, 44, of 206 ½ E. Maple St. in Nicholasville, was arrested Dec. 31 for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident with failure to render aid or assistance and operating on a suspended or revoked license, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers responded to a call for a hit-and- run with a parked vehicle. The caller said the subject exited the vehicle and fled wearing a blue and white shirt. Initially, officers were unable to locate the subject. However, shortly after arriving a subject matching the description the caller had given arrived on scene.

Pittman told officers she waited 15 to 20 minutes after the collision occurred before fleeing, although the citation alleges the officer arrived within two minutes.

Pittman was described as lethargic, unsteady on her feet, and having slurred speech and constricted pupils. Pittman allegedly told officers she had smoked marijuana 30 minutes prior. A search resulted in 20 syringes confiscated from the vehicle.

Pittman was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation. 

Nicholasville man arrested for methamphetamine

Jason E. Johnson, 40, of 407 N. Second St. Apt. 203 in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 2 for tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers saw Johnson sprinting behind city hall towards High Street, and after turning on High Street, Johnson was seen crawling on his hands and feet behind bushes in front of residences. Johnson attempted to flee before being ordered to the ground and detained by officers, according to the citation.

A small bag containing marijuana and a suspected pipe used for smoking methamphetamine was recovered. Johnson was transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center. Prior to arriving, Johnson was described as moving excessively in the back seat of the cruiser. Once Johnson was removed from the backseat, a plastic bag with the odor of fecal matter was found wedged in the seat of the vehicle. The bag contained four Sudafed and two separate bags containing methamphetamine, according to the citation.

Lancaster man arrested for DUI

Edwin V. Leniger, 32, of 51 Woodburn Lane in Lancaster, was arrested Dec. 31 for one headlight, failure to maintain required insurance, DUI and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in the vehicle, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Leniger was seen driving Northbound on US 27 with one headlight. A traffic stop was initiated on Wilmore Road. A strong odor of alcohol could allegedly be smelled coming from the vehicle and Leniger was unable to provide proof of insurance or a driver’s license.

Leniger was further described as having blood shot eyes and slurred speech.

A field sobriety test was performed, which Leniger failed. After being arrested for a DUI, an open beer can was located on the driver floorboard.

Leniger was taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

­— Shawna Hutson, 35, of 2600 Buckner Drive in Hopkinsville, was arrested for failure to pay and failure to appear.

­— Santangela Hawkins, 27, of 1123 Dale Drive in Winchester, was arrested for criminal possession of a forged instrument and theft by deception including cold checks.

­— Alice Faye Tamayo, 48, of 501 E. Main St. in Wilmore, was arrested for contempt of court.

­— Patrick Collins, 34, of 2165 Handys Bend Road in Wilmore, was arrested for contempt of court.

­— Rebekah D. Nutter, 52, of 514 W. Margaret Drive in Wilmore, was arrested for contempt of court.

­— Susan Saylor, 73, of 101 W. Mound St. in Harlan, was arrested for DUI.

­— Jeffrey McManaway, 48, of 313 Wichita Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Dec. 27 for receiving stolen property under $10,000.

­— Jonathan Adair, 29, of 125 Florence Court in Nicholasville, was arrested Dec. 27 for operating on a suspended or revoked license, one headlight and no tail lamps.

­— Aaron Miles Cress, 27, of 308 Cannonball Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Dec. 27 for second-degree assault.

­— Joseph Morris, 30, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Dec. 27 for second-degree escape.

­— Glenn Aaron Cates, 33, of 1406 Christopher Court in Flatwoods, was arrested Dec. 28 for a probation violation.

­— Daniel R. Rotunda, 38, of 448 Corman Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Dec. 28 for theft by unlawful taking under $500.
