JCSO arrest Nicholasville man after 2-hour standoff

The Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired on Martin Drive in Tates Creek Estates Wednesday. After a two hour stand off, Deputies arrested 35-year-old John Winkle of Martin Drive. He was charged with wanton endangerment after he was alleged to have fired two shots at his girl friend. He was taken into custody after members of the Jessamine County Sheriff Special Operations Team found him in a bedroom at the residence on Martin Drive. He was taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center. Later, a charge of fraudulent firearm transaction was added. No one was hurt in the incident.
