Reward offered in shooting of Thoroughbred

The Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday it is investigating the shooting death of a 9-month-old Thoroughbred foal.
The horse was shot by an unknown suspect sometime Thursday night off Tates Creek Road at a horse farm in Jessamine County.
Saturday, JCSO released a statement indicating an unknown person(s) fired multiple rounds from a rifle into a horse paddock striking a young colt.
The young thoroughbred had to be euthanized at the scene Friday.
Originally, the JCSO announced Saturday morning the Thoroughbred stakeholders have come together to offer a $12,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person, or persons, involved in the shooting of the foal in Jessamine County Thursday night. That reward amount was increased Thursday morning to $16,000.
