Lady Jags end hot streak after loss to Mercer County

The East Lady Jags did their thing last Wednesday, August 22, 2018 against Georgetown Middle School. All three teams won. The 6th grade won 32-16 and the 7th grade won 32-1. Shelby Luong #31 led the 7th grade team with 15 points. The 8th won their 10th win 60-11 that night.  Jer’Myra Christian led her team with her first triple double; 19 points, 11 steals, and 10 assists. Iesha Dean was right behind her with her second double of the season leading; with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 steals. Jaila Yeast was on fire scoring 15 points for the night. Coach Amber Bruner and LaToya Richardson were super proud of the girl’s effort and teamwork.

The Lady Jags had back to back games, playing against Bondurant Middle School the following day. The 6th and 7th grade team fell a little short. However, the 8th grade had another victorious win 50-19. Iesha Dean had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 nasty blocks. Kayden Robinson also had an outstanding performance that night. She had 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 deflections. This game made their record 11-2.

The Lady Jags fell to Mercer County Aug. 27 in a tough 64-53 battle. They are now 11-3. Jaila Yeast led the team with 14 points. Coach Richardson said “The game definitely showed them what they need to work on individually and as a team.”  “In order to win,  we must first learn how to lose.” She quoted.

Games like this keeps us humble. We are halfway through the season,  now it’s to regroup, and keep pushing forward.
