On May 19, the 4-H Mothers Extension Homemakers Club hosted its fourth annual yard sale where the group was able to raise $1,000 towards various projects and community donations in Jessamine County.
Items donated included furniture, books, clothing, bedding, dishes, glassware, electronics, yard items, crafts, various holiday decorations and more.
The 4-H Mothers Extension Homemaker Club was founded in 1968 by seven women who were 4-H leaders and who also had children in 4-H. The group presently has 15 Christian women who enjoy fellowship, friendship and helping others.
The proceeds from the yard sale help support the group’s efforts in donating to the Thompson Hood Veterans Home, the veteran hospital in Lexington, Ovarian Cancer Research, Salvation Army, The Jessamine County Food Pantry and 4-H Camp Scholarships.
