Night Market in Wilmore

Wilmore will host its second “Night Market” of the season today with local shops having extended hours, plus more than 20 booths of products, crafts and artistry will be set up on East Main Street. Favorite foods from local restaurants and food vendors will be available with nearby seating provided. The Family Center will be offering an air-conditioned play space, nursing in comfort, diaper change and family friendly restrooms.

East Co-ed Soccer Alumni game at EJHS field

The eighth annual East Co-ed Soccer Alumni game will be at 7:15 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 4, at the soccer field for East Jessamine High School located behind Jessamine Early Learning Village, located at 851 Wilmore Road. Gates open at 6 p.m. All alumni are welcome. RSVP to stormmom03@hotmail.com before July 22 with shirt size for participation.

Wilmore to host Summer Concert Weekend

Wilmore’s Summer Concert Weekend is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday on the Wilmore downtown green. Gospel on the Green Friday evening will feature the Diggles family for a return performance. Stonebridge on Saturday will showcase Bent Penny, a Central Kentucky classic rock band voted “Best Rock Band” in Lexington’s Music Awards event. Both events are free, although donations of canned food for the animal shelter and local pantry are welcome. Food vendors will be on site. The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine.

YMCA hosts summer events

The YMCA will have Zumba classes from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday evenings through July 30. Free summer activities are also planned for 1 to 5 p.m. July 23 through July 27. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aug. 4, the YMCA will host a back-to-school rally with free school supplies, food and games. Parents must register elementary school students from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. the day of the event. All activities will be located at 220 E. Maple St.

Public archaeological dig at Camp Nelson Heritage Park

Camp Nelson Heritage Park has scheduled an archaeological dig on the ground of the Civil War-era supply depot and recruitment center available for two sessions from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday Aug. 4. Camp Nelson is located at 6614 Danville Road. The dig will be led by Dr. Stephen McBride, director of interpretation. Adults and children are encouraged to participate, with children 5-years-old and younger requiring an adult companion. Cost is $5 per person.
