Artswalk event announced for WJHS

West Jessamine High School will hold an Artswalk event from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24.

The high school is located at 2101 Wilmore Road, and the event is free to all Jessamine County School’s families. The event will feature food trucks, vendors, a student art gallery, hands-on art activities, theatre, dance and musical performances.

Jessamine County Schools announces online registration

Jessamine County Schools announced registration for the 2018-19 school year will start with spring registration from April 16 to May 31. Because of Jessamine County Schools’ summer hours, online registration will close from June 1 to July 11, and will reopen July 12 remaining open until school begins August 15. For additional support or information, contact your child’s school.

Kiwanis Club announces meeting

The Jessamine County Kiwanis Club will meet at 6 p.m. April 30 at the Jessamine County Library, located at 600 S. Main St., in meeting room one. All are welcome.

East Elementary annual track and field camp announced

East Jessamine High School will host its annual elementary track and field camp April 26, with registration beginning at 5 p.m. The event is open to children in kindergarten to fifth-grade. The camp will be held at the EJHS track and soccer field. The cost for the event is $20 and includes a T-shirt. For more information, email ejhstrack@yahoo.com The event is open to all area home-schooled, elementary and kindergarten students. Concessions will be available both nights.

Farmers Market applications available

The Nicholasville Farmers’ Market announced those interested in becoming vendors or local artisans looking to display their work can now pick up applications at the Jessamine County Extension Office, located at 95 Park Drive, or at the Jessamine County Public Library, located at 600 S. Celebrating 500,000 volunteer hours

Best Friends Adult Day Center, located at 5220 Grey Oak Lane, will celebrate 500,000 volunteer hours, along with its 34th birthday from noon to 1:30 p.m. April 25.

A sign dedication will take place at 12:30 p.m.

YMCA announces weekly classes

From 6 to 7 p.m. through May 21, free Zumba classes are available,  at the YMCA, located at 220 E. Maple St. in Nicholasville. From 6 to 7 p.m. today through May 24, free yoga classes will be offered. All are welcome. For more information, call 859-885-5013.

Golf Scramble at Connemara Golf Course

Alzheimer’s Association Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter will host the annual Alzheimer’s Association Round to Remember golf scramble and silent auction June 2 at Connemara Golf Course, located at 2327 Lexington Road.

Proceeds benefit the association.
