Burt Ladd announced his candidacy for magistrate in the 6th District.
Married to Melanie Wells Ladd for 29 years, Ladd is a retired transportation and safety coordinator for Fayette County Schools.
A member of the Nicholasville United Methodist Church, Ladd currently serves on the Nicholasville Planning and Zoning Commission and is a member of the Jessamine County Beef and Cattle Association as well as the Nicholasville Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
Ladd has also served as a mentor to students at Brookside Elementary School and served on the Jessamine County Public Schools Local Planning Committee and the Camp Nelson Foundation Board of Directors.
Ladd has lived in Nicholasville since 1989 and said he has long been interested in serving in local government.
“In my current role on the Nicholasville Planning and Zoning Commission, I am committed to listening, asking the hard questions, analyzing the issues, and acting in good faith to find the best possible solution,” Ladd said. “While I do not have opposition in the May Republican Primary, I would appreciate your vote in the November General Election. I look forward to serving the people of Jessamine County District 6 as your next magistrate.”
