Jessamine Historical Society announces monthly meeting

Jessamine Historical Society announced it will have its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. March 22, at 216 N. Main St. in Farmer’s Bank Square. This month will feature speaker Glen Teater, the historian for the Jessamine County Hart Masonic Lodge. For more information, call Richard Lucus at 859-361-2867.

Family Center announces events for March 15-21

The Family Center in Wilmore, located at 334 E. Main St., announced its upcoming events for the week of March 15-21. At 10 a.m. Monday is Preschool Time, followed by Crunch Time at noon;  11 a.m. Tuesday is Flex with Aureol; 10 a.m. Wednesday is Play Time; 9:30 a.m. Thursday is Zumba with Libby, and at 11 a.m. Flex with Aureol. Jessamine County’s Domestic Violence Support Group meets weekly at The Family Center. For more information call 859-326-6142.

Dupont announces organizational meeting

The initial volunteer organizational meeting for Carolyn DuPont, candidate for the Kentucky Senate 22nd district seat, will meet at 10:30 a.m. March 24 at the Jessamine County Public Library, located at 600 S. Main St. All are welcome.

March Exhibit at Polvino Family Art Center

Polvino Family Art Center announced its March Exhibit Art Reception from 5 to 8 p.m. March 2, at 109 S. Main St. Those who attend will experience the evolution of watercolor painting by award-winning Kentucky artist Peggy Bischop.

Golf Scramble at Connemara Golf Course

Alzheimer’s Association Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter announced its 7th annual Alzheimer’s Association Round to Remember Golf Scramble and silent auction scheduled for June 2 at Connemara Golf Course, located at 2327 Lexington Road.

Proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter. For more information, call 859-266-5283 ext. 8181.

Riparian Buffers reschedule meeting

Riparian Buffers announced it has rescheduled its Jan.16 meeting for benefits and opportunities for March 20. The meeting will be a dinner scheduled at 6:30 p.m. All those who are interested need to RSVP by March 15. If school is cancelled on March 20, the meeting will be cancelled as well. YMCA announces weekly classes

The YMCA, located at 220 E. Maple St. in Nicholasville, announced it will host a Zumba class at 6 p.m. Monday evenings, as well as a chair Yoga class at 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays. All are welcome. For more information, call 859-885-5013.

West Jessamine High School announces girls youth basketball training league

West Jessamine High School will offer a youth training league for those interested in basketball. The training league is free. The event will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. Feb. 10, 17 and 24. Located in the gym at West Jessamine High, 2101 Wilmore Road in Nicholasville, attendees are asked to enter through blue doors by the tennis courts.
