I’ve been told a few times lately the newspaper has become more community-focused over the last few weeks.

People have written me on several occasions now telling me how much they like seeing the news from their community. Now, I know there have been a few people who have stepped out and said the opposite, but feedback is a great thing and I welcome it as often as possible.

One of the main focuses for the newspaper moving forward this year is to grow into the kind of publication that can bring you all the local news possible, while also still reaching a much wider audience.

If you have a story to share, please do. If you know of a local event going on around town, please contact us. If you have a news tip that we can follow up on, please reach out.

We want to fill the pages of your local newspaper with as much news as possible.

We will always go out and hunt for the news, and there are many times that we have done that recently, but it is always a good feeling when the people in the community step forward and tell us the stories they want to read.

Those of you who feel proud, happy, sad or even discouraged by what you see going on in your community, let us know.

When people reach out wanting us to share their story, it is a great feeling.

So please, I urge you, as we continue on in this new year no matter what the story, please share your stories.
