Grace A. McGuigan

Grace Ann McGuigan, 35, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 31, 2017. She was born to Mike McGuigan and Lesley Johnson on May 16, 1982 in Martinsburg, W. Va. Grace was a graduate of East Jessamine High School, Class of 2000. She resided in Vero Beach, Fla., where she was employed at the Vero Beach Humane Society as an adoption counselor.

Grace was full of love with a radiant smile and a laugh that would light up a room. Her greatest joys were her children: daughter Lexi, 16, and son Landon, 7. Grace also leaves behind her mother, Lesley Johnson; father, Mike McGuigan; stepmother, Susan McGuigan; maternal grandmother, Patricia Johnson; and her loving sister, Kate McGuigan. She is also survived by her stepsister, Nicole, and stepbrothers, Josh, Kelsey and Brody. Grace was also loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Grace’s life will be held at Jessamine Christian Church in Nicholasville, Ky. on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m., followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.

Orville L. Wolff

Feb. 3, 1935 – Nov. 5, 2017

Rev. Orville L. Wolff, 82, of Nicholasville, devoted husband of Roberta, departed this life surrounded by family on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, in Lexington, Ky. following complications after suffering a massive heart attack. He was born February 3, 1935, in Forbes, N. D., to David and Emma Wolff. He was the 8th of 11 children.

Orville was an ordained minister and he and Roberta faithfully served God wherever He called them. From 1964 – 1975, he and his family were OMS (One Mission Society) missionaries in Brazil, where he taught seminary classes, helped plant churches and assisted in starting a youth camp, among other ministries. His lifelong commitment to the Great Commission (“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:18) also included serving on OMS’s Board of Trustees and supporting missionaries of various agencies worldwide. He pastored churches in a number of states, including Illinois, South Dakota, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Most recently, he served as Associate Pastor at Trinity Hill United Methodist Church in Lexington, Ky.

Orville loved nature and made every place he lived more beautiful. He enjoyed singing in the choir, participating in Road to Emmaus retreats, reading, golfing, fishing and welcoming back the purple martins annually. He cherished family time and made friends everywhere he lived.

Orville is survived by Roberta, his loving wife of 59 years, and their children: Rozanne (Fr. David) Rucker, Nathan Wolff and Ramona (Gerald) Lunsford. He has five grandchildren: Lauren (Fr. Patrick) Pulley, Ethan (Marissa) Rucker, Andrew Rucker, Ana Marie Lunsford and Nathaniel Lunsford; and two great-grandchildren, James and Walter Pulley. He is also survived by other family members, including three siblings: Jeannie, Marie and Myron.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Friday at Trinity Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Drury officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church on Friday. Online guestbook at www.BettsandWestfuneralhome.com.

Anna Riester, 76, passed away Nov. 7, 2017. She was a lifetime resident of Jessamine County, born Nov. 21, 1940 to the late Robert and Anna Thompson. Anna was mother to Robert Riester, Karl C. Riester and Lee Anna Elizabeth Disponette; grandmother to Karl W. and Patricia Riester, and Josie Anna Elizabeth and Anna Victoria Disponette. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Thompson, Jr., wife Joyce, and niece Lisa Wells. Remembrance Service 11 a.m. Friday at Wilmore Presbyterian Church with Rev. Beth Garrod-Logsdon officiating. Family will receive friends starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. Thursday at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
