Members of the East Jessamine Middle School Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) group were recently designated as the November Volunteers of the Month by the Jessamine County Animal Care and Control.
According to their instructor, EJMS students Emma Carpenter, Nate Welsh, Kaylee Resor and Ella Tillery go to the animal shelter each week and film two or three dogs to be the pets of the week.
Once the videos are edited, they are than published on the EJMS STLP and Jessamine County Animal Care and Control Facebook pages for prospective new owners to see.
Along with filming the animals, the students also post a different cat each day up for adoption on the Jessamine County Animal Care and Control Instagram account.
These students have a goal of helping the shelter to find a forever home for each of the animals at the shelter. If the shelter has an upcoming event these students also make commercials on the event and post them on various social media sites.
