Join with us as we sing and dance to your favorite storytime songs and rhymes. This high-energy program is specifically geared for kids 0-5 years of age. Families will have fun together as they enjoy age-appropriate songs, rhymes and fingerplays. This is a great time for the whole family to learn their child’s favorite storytime rhymes and songs. For children ages 0 – 5 years.

Intro to Mac

Saturday, Oct. 28 

9:30 to 11 a.m.

Explore the basics using Apple software and hardware. This class is great for those who are new to Macs, or a Windows switcher. The class will cover the Mac Operating System (OS X), including navigating and shortcuts.

Boo-Wow Walk

Saturday, Oct. 28 

12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Jessamine County Animal Shelter

The Jessamine County Public Library and Jessamine County Animal Care and Control invite everyone to bring theirr best canine buddy in costume so he or she can compete in our costume contest and win a prize. The event includes canine treat stations sponsored by Jessamine County organizations and a doggie costume contest.

Mother Goose Storytime

Mother Goose storytime is designed to provide parents/caregivers and young children time to enjoy books and reading together. Interaction between adults and their children is encouraged through stories, lap songs and fingerplays. No registration is required for this program, so please attend as often as you are able. Intro to Ghost Hunting

Monday, Oct. 23 

5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Members of the Frontier Paranormal Society will be here to talk about the tools and techniques used in hunting down ghosts and paranormal phenomena. They will share some of the exciting evidence they have found during investigations. Come with questions and stories of encounters for this fun and informational program. Please register.

JCPL Book Club: Dracula

5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Join JCPL for a special spooky edition of the JCPL Book Club as we read and discuss Bram Stoker’s classic vampire story Dracula! Registration is required and refreshments will be served. Copies of the book will be available after September 26th.

Teen Trivia

Think you know pop culture and trivia? Want to test your skills and win some prizes? Come join us every Monday for Teen Trivia! Topics include: music, sports, food, Harry Potter, video games, anime, books, and more! This is a come-and-go program and registration is not required.

Teen Foodies

Celebrate the autumn season by making your own caramel apples at the library! All supplies provided. Grades 6-12 only. Registration required.

With an early literacy and school readiness focus, group time includes 25-30 minutes of outstanding stories, poetry, fingerplays, singing and dancing. It wraps up with time for adults and children to interact with a story one-on-one. Participants can then enjoy an additional 10-15 minutes of an age-appropriate art project, physical activity or dramatic play. No registration is required for this program, so please attend as often as you are able.

Exercise With Ease

Wednesday Nov. 1  10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

If you want to exercise, but need to start slowly, this is the perfect class for you. They can help you get moving gently so you can avoid exacerbating injuries or existing conditions. These exercises can be adapted to fit nearly any physical impediment. Trained instructor, Paula Hutchens will be your guide to exercising with ease. No need to register.

Munch & Movie Trivia

Join us for a light lunch and some fun trivia questions that will get you prepared for the classic movie that begins immediately afterwards. Please register.

Silver Screen: Mr. Smith Goes To Washington

Join everyone for popcorn and a great classic movie. November’s movie will be Mr. Smith Goes to Washington starring Jimmy Stewart and Jean Arthur.

Jr. STEM Club

Wednesday, Nov. 01  6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Jr. STEM Club brings science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), to kids ages kindergarten through fifth grade in fun and challenging ways. In these hands-on, interactive programs kids and their caregivers will ask questions, use their senses, and investigate the world around them. Registration is required for this program and will begin on October 18th, 2017.
