A standoff involving local law enforcement and an armed man inside a residence outside of Nicholasville ended without incident Saturday evening.

According to reports, authorities surrounded the house near Sulpher Well and Chrisman Mill Rd. at around 5 p.m. on Saturday after being called to the scene. Gunshots were heard by neighboring residents in the proximity.

The man inside the house eventually surrendered to law enforcement. He is set to undergo an mental evaluation.
