St. Luke Catholic Church, located at 304 S. Main Street in Nicholasville, will be offering classes about the Catholic faith at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings beginning on September 6. Mt. Beulah United Methodist Church, located at 1781 River Road, will host Pollard Day, an annual community gathering at 4 p.m. on September 9. Common Bond Quartet will play at 6 p.m. A baked item contest will be judged at 4:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Helping Hands Ministry will host a bake sale and a yard sale 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9 at Rite Aid on Kimberly Square in Nicholasville.

Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church will be celebrating 216 years of continuous worship on Sunday, August 27. The day will begin with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and followed by the morning worship hour at 11 a.m. A potluck feast and a memorial table will follow the worship hour. 

Lord’s Legacy will host a celebration baptism from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 9 at the Lord’s Legacy ADT Center. To participate contact MegAnn Lilley at megann@lordslegacyministries.org or call 859-245-2233 by Sept. 1. 

Little Hickman Church will host a reunion of the Little Hickman School from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9. Fried chicken will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish or two with food and drinks and a chair. Edgewood Baptist Church will host Creation Ministries International “Creation: Impacting our Culture,” at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10. 

Macedonia Baptist Church will celebrate it’s 150th anniversary along with its annual Homecoming at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 10. 

High Bridge Church of the Nazarene, located at 115 Old Saw Mill Rd. in High Bridge, is calling for fellowship. The church will be hosting services each Sunday at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome. The church was without a pastor for a while following the death of  Harold “Moose” Horton who pastored there from 1969-2015. The new pastor is Emmitt Jackson of Lexington. Everyone is welcome. After much hardship, the church is at risk of closing its doors forever.

Intercessors for America will meet on the last Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the Jessamine County Courthouse lawn beginning in April and through the warmer weather. For more information, contact Pastor Terry Moore at 553-3563.

Saint Athanasius Orthodox Church, 100 Lime Lane, offers free bread from Panera Bread to families and individuals in need in the Nicholasville area every Sunday from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.

Providence Christian Church, 101 Providence Way, hosts a “Bodies in Motion” low-impact exercise class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Nicholasville United Methodist Church will offer a free meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday at 303 W. Maple Street in the Community Center. 

New Hope Fellowship is hosting an outdoor gospel singing with Humble Hearts and many others, as well as a cookout and bake sale on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 3-7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
