Lea Ann Savage Spanyer, 50, wife of Robert William Spanyer, and mother of Hanna and Bryce Spanyer, passed Tuesday, August 01, 2017. She was born May 31, 1967 in Lexington, KY to Raymond Edward and Wanda Ann Welch Savage. Service was 11 a.m. on Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Erik Koliser officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
James Bailey

James Perry “Jim” Bailey 69, husband of Kathy McMillen Bailey, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 after a short illness. He was born in Foley, Alabama the son of the late Earl H. and Edith Younce Bailey. Jim was the President and C.E.O. of the Farmers Bank in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Survivors include two sons, Brian (Angie) Bailey and Keith Bailey; two grandchildren, Cameron and Courtney Bailey; a brother, Jerry (Nancy) Bailey; two sisters Sherry (Jerry) Drake and Carolyn Combs and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Bailey Jr. There are no services scheduled. Bobby Shaw Sr. 64, died on August 4, 2017. Services will be 6:30 p.m. on August 11 at Revival Tabernacle Church located at 1820 Versailles Road in Lexington.
Rosalee Buss
Feb. 5, 1947, – July 13, 2017
Rosalee “Rose” Buss, 70, of Nicholasville, and wife of Kenneth Buss, died July 13, 2017, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born February 5, 1947, in Freeport, IL, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Lucille Tamling Kuhlemeyer. Rose was a homemaker, an accomplished pianist, and assisted Ken with his insurance business, but mostly will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors other than her husband include two children, Jody (Richard) Gibbs, Lexington and Troy (Melinda) Buss, Louisville; and five grandchildren, Nicole, Christian, Kaetlyn, Ryan, and Luke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Buss. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 20 at The Willows at Fritz Farm, 2710 Man O War Blvd. in Lexington. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
