Basking in talent and all things burger

The All-American Burger Bash is less than a month away, and as promised, I have some news to drop on the first-ever Jessamine Life Talent Showcase!

I would like to invite and encourage everyone with talent to share to put it on display at the City/County Park Pavilion on Friday, September 1 for the Jessamine Life Talent Showcase! The event will help kick off the All-American Burger Bash at 6:30 p.m., with check-ins from 5:30-6:15 p.m.

The contest will feature two categories, Music/Vocal Performance and Dance/Novelty Performance, and there will be three age brackets: 9 and under, 13-18 and 19 and older. Entry into the contest will be FREE, and prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category, as well having their photos featured in an upcoming issue of Jessamine Life Magazine!

One entry is allowed per individual, and all showcases must be three minutes or less and be acceptable for all-age viewing in a family-friendly environment. All music tracks are required to be submitted on a non-returnable CD marked with song title and performer. All songs and recited materials are subject to approval, and the committee has the right to combine categories as needed.

Applications for the event can be downloaded at visitnich.com or jessaminejournal.com, and can be submitted digitally to me at nick.hon@centralkynews.com or dropped off at the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce office at 116 S. Main Street in Nicholasville. Entries must be submitted for approval by 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28. For more information, call 469-6443.

We are looking forward to seeing all the talent at the inaugural All-American Burger Bash!
