JCS preparing students for new school year
Published 2:25 pm Wednesday, July 26, 2017
The beginning of August means the end of summer break is near, and Jessamine County Public Schools have events lined up to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.
The first event to help inform students and their parents is the Annual Bus Tour on Wednesday, August 2 for all incoming students to East Jessamine Middle School in the fall. The tours will occur at the City County Park shelter house from 9 to 10:15 a.m. and at Lake Mingo on Lakeview Drive from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Teachers will be on hand, along with school supplies and information regarding upcoming activities.
Then on Wednesday, August 9, all incoming 6th-grade students are invited to attend the East Jessamine Middle School 101 event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers, receive their lockers and meet and make new friends. Lunch will be provided, however, transportation will not.
That evening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. pm, there will be a special section for parents of incoming students offering the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new changes in the middle school. Parents will have the chance to meet teachers and administrators, see the school and learn about activities they can participate in.
