Asbury education student recognized by the state
A graduate student in Asbury University’s School of Education was recently recognized by state education leaders.
Sarah Hatton received the Tomorrow’s Leader Scholar award, which includes a tuition scholarship for two summer courses, textbook reimbursement and a travel stipend from the Kentucky Association of School Administrators and curriculum associates.
Hatton chose to pursue principal licensure at Asbury, one of only a few institutions in Kentucky that offer Option 6 — an alternative certification option for school administration programs. Through Option 6, Hatton was able to begin working as an assistant principal while pursuing principal licensure.
She will complete her Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree and Level II Director of Pupil Personnel certification in fall 2017.
