The Jessamine County Detention Center launched a new website last week designed to update the community about inmates and programs offered at the facility.
On June 1, Jessamine County Jailer Jon Sallee launched the new website constructed by software management company, Jailtracker. Along with website construction, Jailtracker’s facility management software also provides maintenance at no cost to the facility.
“I wanted to have a website that was not only informative to the public, but was also user-friendly for the families of those incarcerated,” Sallee said in a press release. “I realize that when someone becomes incarcerated, it affects their entire family.”
Sallee said he wanted to provide families with tools that would allow them to easily deliver money to their loved ones for purchases such as commissary and phone calls.
The new site also allows the public to view individuals who are currently incarcerated, and what violation they have been charged with. There are also several sections on the website that highlight different programs the jail offers to inmates while they are incarcerated, as well as community service that inmates can participate in during their stay at the facility.
