Jason David Cox passed away peacefully at his home on May 22, 2017 from Multiple Sclerosis. He was 47 years old. Jason was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a DeMolay before MS took his mobility. Jason was a basketball player, a guitarist and an active brother /uncle at family events.
Survived by his Father Robert B. Cox of Mt Vernon; two sisters, Deborah Rhodes and Donna (William) McFeely; and a brother Robert B. Cox Jr. of Alabama. A lovely friend and caregiver of many years, Leisa Napier, loving caregiver Mary Page and his loving Aunt Barbara Kay took care of him for many years.
Many loving nieces and nephews, Jaclyn N (Shawn) Bruner of Washington St., Zachary Sean McFeely of Lexington, Travis (Randa) Rhodes, of Kansas City, Angelica (Chris) Cox of Alabama, Ariel (Daniel) Morgan, and Tara Cox of Tennessee. He was surrounded in life by an entire loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jason loved his church, his family, UK Wildcats, the Reds, NFL football and Rock and Roll. His funny wit and bright smile will be missed by us daily. Preceded in death by mother, Carol Dean Haney, and niece, Ciara Clair Cox, and many other beautiful family members to rejoice with in heaven.
A remembrance service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Elliss officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his mother at 2 p.m. on Friday, at Serenity Hill Cemetery, 3520 Three Links Rd. in Mt. Vernon, Ky. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. Donations can be made to National MS Society, Kentucky-Southeast Indiana 1201 Story Avenue Suite 200, Louisville, KY 40206.
