How long has it been since your last check-up? Whether you’re feeling icky or just want to be on the safe side, community members are encouraged to stop into the free Health Check-up day next weekend.

Participants of the event will be offered free health care screenings, which include chiropractic, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, EKG, height, weight, vision, kidney analysis and more.

Community members will also have the opportunity to learn more about health insurance and rehabilitation companies, Jazzercise, pediatricians, the Child Care Council and the Jessamine County Public Library.

Door prizes and gift cards for items such as gift baskets, diapers, a car seat, a stroller and a bike and helmet will be distributed throughout the day. Free Starbucks coffee will also be provided.

The Annual Jessamine County Health Check-up Day — which is organized and supported by the Jessamine County Health Department (JCHD), Jessamine County Fiscal Court, Kentucky Department for Community Based Services, Jessamine County Schools, and Jessamine County Emergency Medical Services — will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 13 at the Jessamine County Technical Center (JCTC) located at 881 Wilmore Road in Nicholasville.

“This is an easy, no-cost way for Jessamine County residents to check up on their health,” JCHD Public Health Services Manager Andrea Brown said in a press release. “Attendees enjoy the fact that the screenings are free and no appointment is necessary. They also enjoy the fact that they get to talk with health care professionals and other vendors about health-related issues.”
