Travers’s memory honored on the baseball field
The family of Leo Travers, the 15-year-old East Jessamine High student who was shot and killed in January, was honored during the opening day ceremonies on the Jessamine County Youth Baseball Field on Saturday.
Before the games began, Leo’s younger brother, 11-year-old Cooper Travers, threw the first pitch of the season on the same field Leo once played baseball on. His mother and father, Candice and Rob Travers, received a basket containing flowers and snacks from the Jessamine County Youth Baseball League. Treasurer of the league Sara Christian and special events coodinatorKim Dugger, presented the basket to the family.
