Three men arrested in local firearms theft
Three Nicholasville men were arrested Tuesday evening in connection with a burglary earlier that day at Hunters Ferry Road.
According to a report by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening, the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms worked together on a joint investigation that resulted in charges of receiving stolen property-firearms. Cameron Miller,18; Jacob Lay,18; and Bradley Bush,19, all of Nicholasville, were taken into custody at the intersection of Hunters Ferry Road and Chrisman Mill Road without incident.
Deputies and agents were able to recover several firearms, including handguns, shoulder-fired weapons, numerous magazines and ammunition. The items had been reported stolen earlier on Tuesday.
Chief Deputy Allen Peel said that quick leads led to the arrest of the three suspects, who were taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center.
